Born and raised in the Burlington, NC area, Joyce Sally has developed her people and business skills based on her “whatever it takes” attitude. She began shaping her skills by working on her family farm. It was there she learned the value of hard work, perseverance, commitment, patience and common sense.
Prior to working for NAA in 2001, Joyce held several part-time jobs, including as a church financial secretary, a church organist, an office manager for a small business, a substitute teacher, and a distributor for another home-based business. Since her son was going off to college, she began looking for full-time income.
Her husband Huston ran into Andy Albright at the golf course, and they began to chat about the NAA opportunity. Huston told Andy that Joyce needed a job that would have flexible hours. Once Joyce made her first sale, she knew this would be the business for her!
Joyce loves helping people protect their families and helping other people have a better lifestyle through the NAA opportunity and the association with the awesome people in the organization.
“NAA has given us hope and a vision for our lives; we now know that we have purpose and a plan for our lives that will have a positive impact in the lives of other people. We are able to give to the ministries and causes that we believe in and be a blessing to other people. God has blessed me and honored my hard work and commitment to helping others.”
Joyce attributes her success to her encouraging husband who supports her. She is also passionate about what she does. “I have a servant’s attitude. It’s not just about me and what I make; it’s about serving people.”
Joyce is a female pioneer in a male-dominated business and agency. Her first full year in business, she generated 1099 income of over $65,000 and was the only agent to earn all three incentive trips offered by our companies. She is also the first woman agent to earn the NAA $100,000 ring without a business partner (prior to her husband joining her) and the first woman to have a $1,000,000 agency. Joyce wants to encourage other women to be all they can be in NAA and in life!
“Always maintain integrity and accountability in every decision you make, every sale you make, every agent you hire - in everything you do. As Philip Hudgins says, ‘There’s no right way to do the wrong thing.’”
She advises new agents to be willing to make mistakes, to learn from every situation and to learn from what others have done.
“I want to leave a legacy for my family, church and community and be an example of a life well-lived and committed to making the world I live in a better place. I want to live debt-free and make all my decisions based on what is right and what I want to do, not what I can afford. I want to help other people know they can succeed to achieve their own goals and dreams for their future using our opportunity.”
In her spare time, Joyce enjoys spending time with God, her husband Huston, their children: Jennifer and her husband Bobby, Matthew, and Elizabeth. Joyce also has three grandchildren. Joyce also enjoys cooking and entertaining, reading and making baby blankets.
“My goal is to touch as many lives with our opportunity as God will allow and provide the way.”
